Group Therapy


At Every Body Therapy, we understand the power of connection and support that comes from being in a group setting. That's why we offer a variety of group offerings to cater to different needs and interests. We strive to create a nurturing environment where individuals can come together to heal, grow, and support one another.

Please note: all groups are virtual at this time unless otherwise stated.

  • This is a process group for folks recovering from eating disorders/disordered eating. Participants will have the opportunity to process their experience with recovery and work towards healing their relationship with food and their body in a supportive group environment.

    Participants can expect to leave group with effective skills & coping mechanisms, greater education and understanding of disordered eating and its causes, and a deepened sense of self-compassion.

    This group is firmly rooted in Health at Every Size and fat liberation practices and beliefs. The group will run in eight week cycles with the option to re-enroll.

  • This workshop is great for people who want to learn (or have a refresher) of DBT skills without the commitment of a formal group.

    We will go through all 4 modules in DBT and you will leave feeling like you can effectively practice and navigate mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance skills on our own.

    June 21st from 9-5 PM in person in the Greenpoint, Brooklyn office or virtually

  • WHAT: This closed support group for high school aged teenagers (14-18) who are managing depression and/or anxiety offers a supportive and affirming community space where members will be empowered to openly share their experiences and challenges and connect with others going through similar things. We will process things like academic pressure, burnout & overwhelm, body image, relationships, bullying, parents/family, expectations, and more while incorporating DBT and IFS skills to support group members in gaining self-regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance, and insight-based skills.

    WHO: High school aged teenagers (14-18) who are managing depression and anxiety

    WHEN: Every Wednesday for 8 consecutive weeks from 8-9 pm starting May 29th

    WHERE: Zoom

    FEE: $75 per session

    first session fee due at time of enrollment to secure the space

  • This closed support group for adult children who are estranged from their parent/caregiver offers a supportive and affirming community space where members will be empowered to openly share their experiences with estrangement and parental abuse/trauma that preceded. We will sit with folks as they process things like parental abuse (financial, sexual, physical, mental, emotional, narcissistic and beyond) and exploitation, and explore a variety of related topics such as support systems, coping, post traumatic guilt, self-worth and compassion, trust, and grief.

    WHO: Adults (18+) who are estranged from their parent(s) / caregiver(s)

    WHEN: Every Wednesday for 8 consecutive weeks from 6-7 pm starting May 15, 2024

    WHERE: Zoom, in person option dependent on group members' interest

    FEE: $80 per session due at time of enrollment (limited sliding scale availability)

  • This support group for mental health providers aims to create an open support & community space for those working within mental health spaces. This group will empower folks to openly share their experiences, manage challenges and stressors, mitigate burnout, gain insight on how to effectively/healthily grow in their career, and prioritize their own healing as they work in a field that prioritizes others'.

    Where: Virtual via Zoom

    When: Sundays from 12-1 pm

    Participants: open to mental health providers nationwide

  • This is a group for folx who live with chronic illness. Participants will co-create a mutual support space to share their experience, explore the personal and societal forces that lead to body oppression, and empower each other in the process of making peace with one's body. The group will run in six week cycles with the option to re-enroll.

  • This support group is for adults who have experienced loss of a loved one in a sudden and/or traumatic way. The group will empower folks to openly share their experiences with their loss, manage challenges and stressors related, and find a supportive community of others who are finding their new normal.

  • This support group for individuals who feel a connection to the female/feminine/womxn experience aims to empower participants to get what they want from romantic, social, platonic, and familial relationships, as well as the relationship with oneself. This group will also explore and challenge the personal and societal forces that impact one's lived experiences all within the healing nature of community. The group will run in six week cycles with the option to re-enroll for each.

    This group is affirming and knowledgeable of diverse genders, relationship constellations, expressions, and identities. This includes TGNC/NB, Kink, Poly, and more.

  • This support group is for adults who are managing an anticipated loss due to things such as advanced age or terminal illness. The group will empower folks to openly share their experiences, manage challenges and stressors related, and find a supportive community of others who are finding their new normal amidst early grief.
